What’s On Your Mind?

"The mind is a terrible thing to waste'' is a famous quote I’m sure most have heard. This means we should use dedicate our mind to think positively and use our minds to the best of our ability.

Oftentimes we are told to remain positive on what is going on around us. We are told to stay strong and keep going because everything will be alright. We are encouraged to keep positive people around us, remain in positive environments, and have a positive mindset. This is what can be described as the key to being successful and not getting distracted. However, consistently staying positive can be easier said than done. We all know that there are things that happen in life that can challenge a positive mindset.

What’s on your mind? Do you typically think positively and stay optimistic for the future of your life? Do you listen to naysayers and get distracted by negative thoughts? Your thoughts, mindset, and outlook can be what helps you to succeed or may be what keeps you from accomplishing your goals or realizing your vision.

A positive mindset can be what helps you to shift your life to the next level. When problems occur we are responsible for how we react to the situation. As creatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals we have to know when it’s time to take a step back and rest or push past any negative thoughts and keep going. Whatever your choice, just remember to do what’s best for you.

A positive mindset can do the following:

  1. Keep you hopeful and optimistic.

  2. Help you to shift your thinking and give focus to the good in every situation.

  3. Increase better decision making and prevents you from reacting on emotions.

“Think positive, be positive, and positive things will happen!”

Ways to improve a positive mindset:

  1. Begin the day with positive thoughts and affirmations

    • The way you start your day is very important. Set a morning routine that includes time with yourself to get in a positive mindset for the day. Also, give yourself grace throughout the day and remind yourself of the positive affirmations you began your day with.

2. See the good in everything by shifting your mindset

  • No matter what occurred in your day that did not go right it is important to see the good and count your blessings. The shift in mindset will help you to stay positive and give you motivation to try again the next day.

3. End each day reflecting on what you are grateful for no matter what happened.

  • Practicing gratitude can change your entire outlook. Gratitude helps you to see that whatever is not going right is just a moment and not how the outcome of your life will be. Practicing gratitude for the small things daily will ensure presence and gratefulness for the big things.

Whatever is on your mind, let it be positive and never lose sight of your vision and goals. Difficult days will come and things will not always go as planned, however, learn the important lesson that will help you move forward in a positive way.
